In a case of the steering mechanism there is a steering mechanism assembled, a zolotnik of management and the working cylinder. Through торсион (2) steering shaft (1) it is elastic it is connected with the screw (3) and it is rigid - with zolotniks (4 and 5). Zolotniks are built in the distributor case in cross-section situation concerning a screw axis. Communication between the piston (6) and the screw (3) is carried out through the closed ball chain. At a screw provorachivaniye the circulating tube (7) takes away balls from one end of a chain and moves them by other end. The piston (6) is connected through gear gearing to shaft (8), having gear sector. The special profile of tooth of sector of a shaft does possible elimination люфта by means of the adjusting screw.

In the neutral provision of zolotniks (4 and 5) the oil submitted by the pump, circulates in the mechanism of a steering and through the opened inlet and final operating edges has a free access in the cylinder.

The hydraulic drive enters work when zolotniks leave neutral situation. It occurs, when the effort from a steering wheel or from a soshka of a steering is transferred to the screw through a shaft with gear sector and the piston. Thus as a binding element acts торсион (2). Its flexible part has ability to be deformed and again to return zolotniks after removal of effort from a steering wheel in neutral situation. At a conclusion of zolotniks from neutral situation oil goes as well to the working cylinder, – it carries out power support in moving of a shaft of a steering and counteraction at the blows caused by roughness of the road.

Steering wheel in neutral situation: from the lopastny pump oil flows in the distributor case, via inlet channels (9 and 10) – to radial channels (11 and 12). From there it flows further through connecting openings to the right and left cavities of the cylinder, and then via open final channels (13 and 14) back in the tank.

The steering wheel is turned on / counter-clockwise: the zolotnik (4/5) moves to the right, and the inlet channel (9/10) opens. The zolotnik (5/4) moves to the left, and the inlet channel (10/9) is closed. Thus oil gets to the right/left cavity of the cylinder, is pushed out from the left/right cavity of the cylinder and comes back to the tank.
